What is quickly done is quickly seen and would not bear the test of careful examination.

"Stanton's Bridge near Thrupp"
At right is a largish painting (24" x 20") I did for my exhibition at Felt Cafe (see below). At this dark time of year it re-creates some special memories of lovely Summer walks along the Stroudwater Navigation, part of the Severn and Thames Canal Trust system, and not very far from our home.
If you follow this link to my Album on Google Photos you can see the process of creating this oil painting, which is for sale,
price £275.
Felt Cafe, Brimscombe
The Felt Cafe opened in 2019 in Bourne Mill just East of Brimscombe port area on the River Frome and on the route of the old Thames and Severn canal.
Local artists exhibit there for a month at a time and I had some wall space throughout March 2021. I had created new landscape-related paintings of the beautiful Brimscombe/Chalford/Sapperton Golden Valley, often inspired by the many local walks taken during the 2020 lockdown. I was successful in selling some paintings but there are still some left (see Works to Buy page of this website).
The felt Cafe is in a lovely spot to visit either from the A419 or during a short river walk from Brimscombe, and they do excellent food, with cake to die for........... If you'd like to read the history of Bourne Mill take a look at this link
